Hi Shawn, The problem is on the screen for you to see. You need to downgrade your CE OS to Win CE82, else you r Vertex software won't work, but downgrading is futile, so unless you can get hold of a friends Pocket book PC running Win CE OS 82, you may have problems.

This is a Win CE Operating System fault rather than Vertex software fault. You say laptop, Win CE OS is for the smaller Pocket Book PCs as far as I'm aware. If you're running that OS on a laptop PC, that can cause you lots more problems. I hope this answer clears up the issue a little. Regards, Peter Oct 21, 2012 .

The VX2100 is quite a complicated camera and can be easily damaged during disassembly. I don't know of any setting that would cause this to happen but you can try resetting the camera functions pressing the rest button to see if this goes away. I have successfully recorded to a mini Dv tape from my computer however I connected my PC to the VX2100 using the RCA inputs. I have an adapter that I purchased from best buy that provides the RCA input/output.

If your able to connect that make sure to. Turn you VX2100 to Play/Edit mode (not camera mode) 2. Insure the program on your mac has an external output otherwise you won't be able to record. See if your video editing software (if your using one) has an option for record to tape or to camera. I use Vegas Studio and it has an option for that. Hope this helps.
