The Julie Ruin are an American band formed in 2010 in New York City. The band's first album, Run Fast, was released on September 3, 2013 by Dischord Records.

Just watched and loved the Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill/Le Tigre) documentary, The Punk Rock Singer; if you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend that you do. Among other revelations, I learned that shortly before Bikini Kill split, Hanna put out a solo album of lo-fi bedroom electro-punk under the pseudonym Julie Ruin. This probably is common knowledge.
